Salary £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
CV Screen is delighted to be recruiting a Financial Accountant for a well-established civil engineering business in Northampton. You will report directly to the Finance Director. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who wants to move into a more commercially focused role. You'll support project finance, month-end and financial controls, and work closely with commercial colleagues across the business. The role offers a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 plus an excellent benefits package. It suits a proactive person who is keen to develop and progress their career.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Check weekly subcontractor payments against timesheets and review supplier and subcontractor onboarding
- Help prepare management reports and project finance packs, and analyse data to spot trends and overspend
- Complete month-end on time, including management accounts, VAT returns and reconciliations
- Work with the commercial team to improve cash collection
- Drive process improvements, support external audits and provide ad hoc finance support across the business
What Experience is Required
- Newly qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (candidates currently studying will be considered)
- At least 2 years' experience in an accounting or commercial finance role
- Advanced Excel skills and the confidence to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
Salary & Benefits
£40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience. Benefits include an Aegon pension, 25 days' holiday plus your birthday and bank holidays, private medical insurance and life cover at 4x salary. Working hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Location
The role is based in the Northampton office, with one day a week working from home. It's an easy commute from Wellingborough, Daventry, Towcester, Kettering, Rushden and Milton Keynes.
