Senior Accountant – Chartered Practice

We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and fully qualified Senior Accountant to come join our client who are a leading boutique-chartered accountancy practice based in the Leeds area. You will be joining a small team of talented of qualified and part qualified accountants.

Working within a senior role in the practice the successful candidate will be getting involved with all aspects of preparing statutory accounts, whilst handling some of the practices most valuable clients in their portfolio.

Along with other duties such as preparation and reviewing trading accounts, VAT returns, Corporation and Personal Tax, the post holder will also be responsible for overseeing bookkeeping tasks of junior colleagues and trainees.  

Responsibilities / Skills required:

• ACA or ACCA qualification is ideal, but if you are part qualified and nearing the end of your exams or a QBE, then you will still be considered
• A minimum of 3 years’ practice experience essential
• Competent understanding of Microsoft Word & Excel
• Sage, QuickBooks, Xero and payroll software experience highly desired
• To get involved in all aspects of preparing statutory accounts
• Review statutory accounts
• Preparation and review trading accounts
• Preparation and review of VAT returns
• Preparation and review of Corporation tax returns
• Preparation and review of Personal tax returns
• Supervising monthly and weekly payroll for clients, including auto enrolment
• Advising on tax planning
