Salary up to £38,000 + Hybrid Working
We are seeking a Finance Officer to join a fantastic charity business in Coventry. This organisation is recruiting a Finance Officer to manage the daily operations of its finance function while overseeing a small team. This is a hands-on role that combines routine financial tasks with providing analytical support, preparing reports, and assisting with audit processes alongside senior finance leadership.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Own month-end close, journals, reconciliations & accurate reporting
- Deliver monthly accounts with clear insights, variance analysis & trends
- Oversee daily finance ops (payroll, VAT, income streams) & compliance
- Lead budgeting & forecasting with stakeholders
- Develop KPIs & financial insight to support decision-making
- Strengthen systems, controls & lead audit process
- Support income, grants & membership finances, ensuring accuracy & compliance
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong experience across financial management, reporting & compliance
- Proven budgeting & forecasting with stakeholders
- Charity sector experience & knowledge of SORP would be highly desirable
- Skilled in statutory reporting (VAT, PAYE, pensions)
- Experience managing and developing small teams
- Clear communicator with strong financial analysis skills

LOCATION
The role is a hybrid working model, with two days per week working from home. The office is based just outside Coventry.
