Payroll Specialist

A well-established and growing organisation based in London is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its Finance team on a fixed-term contract (12 months). Supporting a workforce of circa 200–250 employees, this role will work closely with Finance and HR to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, benefits administration, and reporting. The role would suit a Payroll Specialist with previous experience in a standalone capacity and is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll professional with strong systems and Excel skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

Support end-to-end payroll processing including joiners, leavers, and monthly updates
Liaise with external payroll providers and ensure data accuracy and deadlines are met
Administer employee benefits including pensions, Cycle to Work, and season ticket loans
Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations, and reports for management accounts
Handle payroll queries and support year-end processes including P60s and P11Ds
What Experience is Required

Proven experience in a payroll-focused role (ideally as a Payroll Manager or Payroll Specialist)
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and processes
Experience with Sage payroll and intermediate Excel skills desirable
Salary & Benefits
The Payroll Specialist role offers a salary of up to £45,000 plus benefits. This is a fixed-term contract position offering valuable experience within a collaborative finance team.
