The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and highly respected automotive retail business based in Bracknell. Offering a salary of £34,000 plus an excellent benefits package, this office-based role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career within a successful finance team. Our client is an established automotive retailer with decades of industry experience, a strong reputation for customer service, and multiple locations across the UK. You'll support the Dealership Accountant in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of the accounts function.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day running of the accounts department, ensuring financial records remain accurate.
• Process sales and purchase ledger transactions, payments, cash postings and credit control activities.
• Complete bank, balance sheet and nominal ledger reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of management accounts to trial balance, VAT returns and audit schedules.
• Investigate and resolve finance queries while producing debtor reports and other financial information.

What Experience is Required

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role, ideally within the motor retail sector.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliations, ledgers, VAT, management accounts and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with CDK/Kerridge accounting software would be highly advantageous.
