IT Support Engineer

Up to £32,000 per year
Hours 37.5 per week, office based Monday to Friday, shift work between 7am and 5.30pm
An IT Support Engineer is required for a manufacturing company, based in Blackburn. A salary of up to £32,000 is on offer DOE.
Reporting to the Group Infrastructure and Support Manager, this role will provide 2nd Line IT Support on Desktop and Application services.
Main Responsibilities
- Being the first point of escalation for the 1st Line Support Team
- Working from a Helpdesk System to resolve tickets, ensuring SLA’s and KPIs are met
- Providing enhanced end user desktop support on Desktops, Laptops, IP Phones, Headsets, Monitors, Tills etc
- Analyse diagnose and resolving issues to find permanent fixes
- Create Knowledge Base Articles to increase ticket resolution efficiency
- Produce procedural documentation where required
- Escalating to 3rd Line / Infrastructure Team when appropriate
- Travel to remote sites and overnight stay required when required
- Working on business Infrastructure improvement projects
- Roll Out New Sites and setup hardware / software required
- Perform Desktop testing on new applications being deployed
- Assisting Infrastructure with Project work where required
- Troubleshooting Server Related Issues as well as Desktop
- Basic Administration of AD, GPO, DHCP, DNS, Office 365, Sophos AV, Cisco Umbrella, VMware
- Administration of imaging technologies

Skills Required
The IT Support will ideally have the following experience:
- Extensive knowledge Windows 10+
- Good Understanding of imaging technologies, such as Auto Pilot - migration from WDS to Auto Pilot and bulk applications rollout
- Good Understanding of Networking fundamentals. Ability to do basic configuration on switches and routers
- Good Understanding of Windows Server 2012- 20129 and all Domain Services (AD, GPO, DHCP, DNS)
- Experience of Administering Exchange Online/ Office 365
- Good Experience of WDS and WSUS, configuration and management.
