The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Director with strong PFI/PPP expertise to join a specialist consultancy supporting public sector organisations across the UK. This fully remote role offers a salary of £95,000 plus an excellent benefits package and the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile financial advisory projects. Established for over a decade, the organisation works with NHS Trusts, local authorities, government departments and other public bodies, helping them achieve value from outsourced infrastructure and service contracts. You’ll join a growing, multidisciplinary team with an excellent reputation for financial, commercial and contractual advisory work.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead complex financial modelling for business cases, PFI contract changes, expiry and handback projects.
• Develop Green Book-compliant Strategic Outline and Full Business Cases.
• Advise clients on PFI/PPP accounting, funding structures, affordability and value for money.
• Lead financial and economic appraisals supporting major investment decisions.
• Manage client projects, senior stakeholder relationships and the delivery of board-level reports and recommendations.

What Experience is Required?

• Significant PFI/PPP experience gained within public sector finance, consultancy, a project company or funding environment.
• Strong financial modelling and public sector accounting knowledge, ideally including IFRS 16, IFRIC 12 and HM Treasury Green Book business cases.
• A recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ICAS is preferred, alongside excellent senior stakeholder and leadership skills.
