Finance Assistant - FMCG

CV Screen is delighted to be recruiting a Finance Assistant on behalf of a well-established, growing FMCG business based in London. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day finance in a hands-on role, working closely with the Managing Director and the external accountants. The salary is £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience, with hybrid working. You will have real scope to shape how the finance function works. The role would suit an organised, proactive finance professional who enjoys variety and wants to make a genuine impact.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Raising accurate sales invoices and credit notes, and keeping customer accounts up to date in Xero
- Processing and coding supplier invoices using Dext and Xero, preparing weekly payment runs and reconciling statements
- Managing credit control, chasing overdue accounts by phone and email, and reporting on debtor days
- Updating the daily cash position and short-term forecast, and flagging any pressure points early
- Completing daily bank reconciliations and supporting month-end, year-end and VAT returns
What Experience is Required
- Sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control experience within a busy finance role
- AAT Level 2 or above (or qualified by experience), with strong Excel and Xero (or similar) skills
- A confident, persistent but friendly approach when chasing payments and paperwork
Salary & Benefits
A salary of £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience, plus 25 days’ holiday, a pension scheme and hybrid working.
Location
The role is based in London with some remote working. It is an easy commute from Watford, Enfield, Stratford, Wembley, Ealing and Croydon.
